Parasky Studios Game Ideas
I think I want to be a video game designer when I get older (saying when I grow up would mean like two years), but more importantly I want to have my own gaming company. I figured I post a couple of my ideas here to see what people think of them. I'm well aware people here are also aspiring to be game designers *cough*extra*cough* which is why I had all my ideas placed under the Creative Commons License meaning you cannot derive works from my ideas. If you do, I can sue the hell out of you no matter what nation you live in. I am a particular fan of the RTS genre, but have an idea for a FPS too (with a possible sequel). Lets start with the RTS first. Xenowars (name under construction) This one is simple. I want a game like Starcraft, but better. I want a basic structure like a combination of Starcraft and AoE III. By that I mean that I want the Starcraft idea of not "aging up" but the rate of play of an AoE game. I found that Starcraft went by too fast and I would fail often because I'm used to the slower gameplay of AoE. I also want a variation of the homecity which will be explained later. Lets start off at the basics: resources, gameplay, maps, factions/units. Resources: The game only has one resource, the only resource that matters in both gaming and the "realosphere"; money. Currency to be more precise. Currency is your only resource, and you get it by fighting, building certain building, and harvesting things such as dead enemy units and rubble (looting). Overall, you'll slowly get a trickle of currency anyways, but you need it to make buildings and units. Gameplay: Gameplay is just like all other RTS games, you click a unit and have them preform an action by either selecting an icon from a menu that appears after selecting said unit or right-clicking something else. For instance, a builder might have a menu of icons with structures to build and the ability to be right-clicked on something to build it or repair it. A soldier may only be able to be right-clicked on something to attack it or move there. Movement is by selection and right-clicking. I think you get the point on what I mean by basic RTS style gameplay. -Homeworlds: This is my variation of the homecity. All factions will have a homeworld that can send reinforcements and upgrades. All will cost currency, and I want players to have the ability to customize what reinforcements are possible as well as the homeworld; like on the lit side or dark side, satellites, events occurring, weather on certain areas, ect. -Unique Moves: Each faction will have a unique "move" that they can do (somewhat like the "superpowers" from the advancewars DS game). It costs a herculean amount of currency, but is devastating in its power. Will be explained later. Maps: These will range from small 1v1 maps to humongous 18 player maps. They will have cities, forests, lakes, rivers, oceans, and such. The unique feature is the double map, meaning there is the planetside map and the space map. As the name implies, the space map shows what units you have in space. The spaceships can engage other spaceships, explore parts of the map, deploy units, and some can create units (like an aerospace craft carrier) or even engage units planetside (on the ground). Factions/Units: This will be the longest part of the description, so I won't do another game idea tonight. There will be four factions in the game; Humans, Zoasapians, Rebels (also human), and Sadar (no picture yet but I'm working on it. All factions will have similar units (they will be balanced differently and called different names though) but have a unique unit, ship, and attack. United Nations (Human): The most diverse of the four factions, Humans have made their mark on the galaxy. With the entire Sol star system colonized, they moved on to other stars and other forms of life. Soon, they had colonized three systems including the Sol and in 3010 discovered the Zoasapian race. They ruled over them for 30 years and are now fighting them as they have been for the past fifteen years. In 3018, the United Jovian Moons and the People's Republic of Mars revolted from the Humanity's empire (United Nations) and formed their own nations. Soon after, the People's Republic of Mars was crushed and the UJM was on its own. -Unique Unit: Cybernetically Enhanced Soldier (CES) -Unique Ship: M Class Type 6 Battlecruiser ("Giga-Cruiser") -Unique Attack: Orbital Nuclear Strike (Destorys a large area of the map and leaves fallout, which damages all units in it slowly) United Jovian Moons (Rebels): The United Jovian Moons were originally the Human colonies on the moons of Jupiter. After seeing the appalling treatment of the Zoasapian's homeworld and other foreign lifeforms, they demanded the UN stop or they would face the consequences. Not heeding their warning, the UN went about its business and essentially told the UJM to screw themselves. The UJM had many key Astroports and Aerospace Force bases and when the seceded from the UN, they cut the UN military power down by about 30%. Now they fight anyone they need to in order to gain their freedom. Their main focus is their spaceships and reinforcements. -Unique Unit: Orbital Drop Marine (ODM) -Unique Ship: C-Class Type 6Z Carrier ("Roundabout") -Unique Attack: Trade Monopoly (Using the major trade stations on the Jovian Moons, the UJM triples its current funds) Zoasapians (Forgians): In April of 3010 the planet Forge was discovered orbiting the gas giant Gilgamesh. Upon further inspection it was found to have intelligent life. This life was in their stone age, but displayed an interesting ability to domesticate animals and train them to do tasks instead of making tools to do it themselves. Therefore, they were called the Zoasapians, which means Animal Thinkers. At that time, First Contact scenarios didn't include non-advanced civilizations so the Humans just waltzed right on down to the planet's surface and began to introduce the Zoasapians to all kinds of technology and knowledge. Soon, the UN annexed Forge in return for bringing the Zoasapians up to the Human level of knowledge. After years of oppression, slavery, and segregation, the Zoasapians revolted and cast the Humans off of Forge, taking the capital of Anvil and all the technology and knowledge within it for themselves. Thus starting the Forge war which later lead to the Xenowars. Ingame the Zoasapian faction focuses mostly on infantry and other land units. -Unique Unit: Patriot Warrior -Unique Ship: Forgian Carrier (no nickname needed) -Unique Attack: Emergency Tactical Drop (Drops a number of Patriot Warriors depending on the length of the game. One Patriot Warrior per two minutes of the game. The location of the drop can be chosen, drop pods can fall on units and buildings and damage and/or destroy them) Sadar It mixes in with my storyline for my FPS :P After moving to their equator and building a primitive civilization, they were changed forever when a strange, large craft crashed on their world. They didn't know what it was, and when the began investigating it, they found a large "tablet" (it was a computer screen) that sent beams of light all over them (scanning them) and began communicating to them in their language. It gave them technology and knowledge beyond their wildest dreams. Within an Earth month they had gone from throwing rocks to using interplanetary nuclear implosion missiles. They believe the is a god, and worship it so. The is also sentient, being the fruit of trillions of years of advancement from the first race of sentient beings in the universe (explained in my FPS storyline later). It however, is flawed and infected with another sentient AI. The AI's are fused, damaging their higher logic functions. They have set into the minds of the Sadar the idea that they are the perfect race, and must eliminate all other sentient life from the universe. With that, the promises the gift of ascending to . The Sadar are worthless as infantry, being fragile and small. With the help of trillions of years of technological advancement at their tentacle tips, however, they are a force to be reckoned with; having the ability to destroy entire solar systems in mere nanoseconds. They are instructed to avoid that though, as the wants only sentient life gone, so it can accomplish its original function; to learn everything about the universe. The Sadar are masters of machinery, both in space and the ground; their god makes it so. -Unique Unit: Mobile Assault Base -Unique Ship: Orbital Fortress -Unique Attack: Orbital Antimatter Missile Barrage (All Orbital Fortresses fire their battery of Antimatter Missiles, devastating large areas of the map. The affected parts of the map will kill any units entering it instantly.) Alright, let me give you some basic units and buildings. United Nations Buildings Command Center: Just like a town center. It builds RCD's (Robotic Constructions Drones) that can build other buildings and has a couple of improvements as well. Barracks: What do you think it does? Well, I'll tell you anyways. It builds basic and advanced infantry as well as acts as a base for researchable improvements for said infantry(s). Beacon: The beacon is like the starport from Starcraft. Unlike the starport however, it does not build space ships. What it does is contacts the homeworld and has space ships come to the Field of Combat. It also has improvements for the space ships and is the place where you activate your special attack (gotta think of a better name). Airstrip: Builds and upgrades aerial units. Not much to be said about it. Workshop: A building where siege units (such as tanks) are created and upgraded. Armory: Has advanced upgrades for all units (except space ships). Dugout: A bunker like building that fires at enemy units and can garrison friendly units. Much like the guard towers from AoE. Factory: After building it and assigning some RCD's to it, the factory automatically collects the map's resource(s) (different maps could be on different planets, therefore having different resources). As resources are collected, they build up in the factories and can be sold for Currency. Units Infantry: Rifleman: Basic soldier armed with a rapid-fire gauss rifle. Good against other infantry, but horrible against siege units and practically worthless against aircraft. Build at Barracks Sniper: Special unit with a long range powerful weapon, but with low health. Good for picking off units at a distance, but will be pwned by siege units and aircraft; as well as other infantry. Built at Barracks. Anti-Vehicle Infantry (AVI): Soldier armed with a shoulder-mounted compact laser cannon. Excellent against siege units and fair against aircraft. Will most definitely loose against infantry and moves so slow it is worthless against snipers. Best if grouped with basic infantry. Built at Barracks. Cybernetically Enhanced Soldier (CES): The unique unit of the UN. A super powerful infantry unit that has a build limit of five. They have a massive amount of health and are armed with an advanced gauss rifle equipped with a compact laser cannon. They can effectively take on whole swarms of infantry alone, and can easily defeat siege and air units in groups. Built at Command Center after researching "Advanced Bio-Cybernetics". Siege Units Hell Hound Reconnaissance Vehicle (Hell Hound): An armored jeep-like vehicle armed with a "Gatling Gauss Rifle". Good as a scout, but has little more health than rifleman. Moves fast. Built at Barracks. Anti Personnel Tank (Ant Lion): A small, quick tank equipped with a 45mm cannon, two mounted RFGR, and a row of sharp circular saws that mow down any infantry that dare cross its path. Has more health and power than a Hell Hound, but less speed. Built at Workshop. Titan Walking Assault Tank (TWAT): A large "battle walker", it is equipped with a row of anti-air missiles, a high power laser cannon for defeating siege units, and a Gatling Gauss Rifle turret for defeating infantry units. It has far more health and attack power than the Ant Lion, but is far slower. The ability to walk rather than tread around, however, makes it more mobile and it can move over rubble and obstacles other, treaded, vehicles cannot. Built at Workshop. Armored Assault Troop Transport (Bulldog): A heavily armored, slow troop transportation vehicle capable of carrying up to fifteen soldiers at a time. It has more health than an Ant Lion, but less than a TWAT. It has about the same amount of attack power as the Hell Hound, but is only a little faster than infantry on foot. It's armed with a mounted low power compact laser cannon, a mounted RFGR, and has gun slots garrisoned infantry can fire from. Built at Workshop. Aerial Units Gunship (Thunderbird): Even almost a thousand years in the future, gunships remain an important part in any war. No longer are they bound by rotors though, now they are a true VTOL vehicle. With twin, movable "flat turbines" on each "wing", they can move anywhere on a map at incredible speeds. They have no more health than the Ant Lion, but have twin Gatling Gauss Rifles on the front as well as a GGR turret on each side. They cannot transport infantry, but can provide air support and can clear the way. Built at Airstrip. Aerial Transport Unit (Phoenix): A larger version of the Thunderbird, the Phoenix has given up fire power for size. They can carry six troops a piece and still have the GGR turrets on the sides. Heavy Assault Aerospace Unit (Raptor): The Raptor is a beast of a flying machine. Capable of leaving and entering a planets atmosphere, this delta-wing aircraft is the fighter jet of the future. Its VTOL capability is the grea-*test*-('") feature, meaning it doesn't need long flat areas to land. It is armed with two GGR's, a row of compact smart missiles, and EMP's (Electro-Magnetic Projectiles). It has the special "Dive Bomb" ability in which it leaves the atmosphere and comes in at an angle, firing EMP's, then missiles, and finally its GGR's; devastating a long strip of the map. With the same health and more power than a TWAT, and being the fas-*test*-('") human vehicle in the game, it truly is a beast of the skies. Build limit of six. Built at Airstrip. Space Ships Battle Cruiser: A large, 400 man-crew space ship armed with a battery of 350 high power laser cannons, a barrage of 40 nuclear warheads, and 500 Ship-to-Ship missiles; this ship is a force to be reckoned with. It has Orbit-to-Surface laser capabilities, but can easily be destroyed by enemy ships. Build limit of six. Summoned at Beacon Inferno Carrier: A 70 man-crew ship that can carry up to 35 soldiers to a planet at any given time. Is armed with a barrage of Ship-to-Ship missiles. Has massive amounts of health (called shields with ships). Can drop soldiers at Command Center rally point. Summoned at Beacon. Gigacruiser: The UN unique ship. A Herculean ship, it has an 800 man-crew. It is armed with a battery of 700 high power laser cannons, a barrage of 60 nuclear warheads, Ship-to-Ship missiles, and has Orbit-to-Surface nuclear strike capabilities. Build limit of one. Summoned at Beacon after researching "Tachyon Space Engine". THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED, PLEASE CHECK BACK FREQUENTLY.
